Thanks for the title, Tim!
I might as well start with my
latest outing, the Battersea Beer Festival -- my very favouritest of the CAMRA
celebrations. Whilst drinking, I took notes of all the ales I drank, and with
minimal editing, will share them with you:
Fyne - Avalanche: good, but unmemorable
Downton - Rye Smile: shit; dumped this one out
Kent - KGB: flowery but made with stale, gross flowers -dry potpourri
Purple Moose Brewery - Snowdonia Ale: good session ale! like it. revisited once.
RedWillow - Feckless: caramelly, but can't drink more than one. (I lie further down)
Peerless - Storr Lager: good for lager, fresh but a bit like sucking on a slightly worn trainer
Thornbridge - Wild Swan: very light, but nice. tastes like it was brewed this morning. which is kind of nice to say, but makes it a bit... boring.

Bateman's
- Dark Mild: good. but a bit like coffee that's gone almost cold. but started
as a nice coffee...
Sadler's
- Hop Bomb: citrus hop, smooth. lovely! in fact, I got it twice. lovely stuff.
Sambrooks - Pumphouse Pale: a lot like Hoegaarden but not
Hoegaarden
Spire - Whiter Shade of Pale: like reconstituted meat mixed with dish soap. avoid at all costs.
Saltaire - Cascade Pale Ale: lovely. aftertaste a little off putting though? but initially refreshing.
starting to fade...
Osset - Otley O1: good, unassuming. grows on you. perfect session ale .
Hop Back - Summer Lightning: yeah, more lightish familiar hops. whatever. bored of this.
Pyder: cider and perry. 7% oh, it should taste like something?
Hartland - Perry: sweet. perry. apple juice. lovely. someone else says'glue-y' but I'm not getting that.

chips.
another plate of chips.
something about 'Feckless' not being mine. still tastes like
dessert. caramel. good. but not a session.
Brewster - Hop-a-Doodle-Do: nice, bold ale, crisp, well-rounded. very pleased ending night with this.

I voted
for Hop Bomb as best ale. We shall see.
